How It All Started

GBD Systems was not born in a boardroom.
It was born inside a real, operating business.

More than 13 years ago, we launched our own e-commerce website with one clear goal: it had to sell, scale, and work reliably every day. For years, I — Georgi Dimov — was deeply involved as both a manufacturer and a merchant, building and growing the business hands-on.

In 2020, everything changed.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced a complete shift to online operations. Growth became urgent. Automation became critical. Stability was no longer optional. That was the moment we encountered one of the most common problems in the digital world: finding reliable, responsive software developers.

From Necessity to Expertise

My journey into IT did not start as a career change.
It started as a necessity.

Step by step, I began learning, testing, breaking, fixing, and rebuilding systems. I maintained websites, implemented new features, optimized workflows, and gradually took on increasingly complex technical challenges.

It wasn’t easy — but it was real.

Over time, I realized something important:
this was not just work, and not just a hobby.
It became a passion for building systems that solve real, measurable business problems.

Building Real Solutions

The first projects were internal — custom modules developed for our own websites.
Later came multiple successful online platforms and a complete management system for a sports club, including:

  • a website with scheduling and bookings
  • a Windows application for on-site check-in
  • a centralized database
  • internal tools for planning and automation
